Here, stages of the historical development in the Auer Valley are presented using valuable exhibits. Prehistoric tools indicate that people probably passed through the valley several thousand years ago. Archaeological finds bear witness to the medieval settlement of our region. The early days of the town are documented by means of material evidence of crafts as well as images and written material. Products and other exhibits testify to the industrialization and transport development of the Auer Valley in the 19th and early 20th centuries. At that time, Aue developed into an important industrial town in West Saxony and was in its heyday.
